Welcome to the Atkinson Academy web site! Our school has a long and distinguished history, and we proudly carry on a tradition of excellence in the town of Atkinson and the Timberlane Regional School District. We are a thriving community of 485 students in grades kindergarten through five, with a dedicated full and part-time staff of 80. Our families and friends play an instrumental role in our school by supporting students both at home and in the classroom.

Our mission statement declares that through the process of learning, we value and build knowledge, respect, and community. These concepts are the cornerstone of what we believe in, and are part of every aspect of school life. We pride ourselves on our warm and welcoming environment, and in the respect we show for each other. We work together to meet the needs of individual students while striving to reach high standards for all. The Timberlane Regional School District curriculums are based on state and New England standards in all subject areas. Balanced literacy, a strong focus on writing, and the integration of subject areas are keys to our language arts success. The Everyday Math program has enabled us to become eager mathematicians. Our current theme is “Caretakers of the Earth”. We pride ourselves on our efforts to limit our impact on the environment both at school and at home.

Our PTA is instrumental in supporting enrichment experiences for our students both financially and with their volunteer efforts. Our dads’ group, the Night Owls, has provided field trip transportation, playground equipment and improvements to the school grounds. We have a substantial number of parents and community members who give their time in all facets of our school life. All of these volunteers make a significant contribution to the quality of education that we offer.
